Digital Readout Systems
Our expertise in remanufacturing includes the ability to interface state of the art digital read out systems with existing manual machine tools by providing increased production, better precision, and more reliability. Bikle Manufacturing is an authorized Heidenhain dealer, and regardless of your specifications, size or the number of axes of your machine tool, Heidenhain offers digital readout systems for virtually any application. Customer preferences in controls can be accommodated and on-site service is available to assist in inspecting and sizing your machine for proper fit.
What are Digital Readout Systems?
A Digital Readout System consists of one or more linear scales and a counter for position readout. The linear scale is an encoder that detects movement of the machine slide and transforms the movement into electrical signals. These signals are then fed back to a counter that indicates the axis movement in metric or standard measurements.
The linear scale determines the accuracy. Resolution can be set at the readout by the machine operator. Heidenhain linear encoders are renowned for their high accuracy and rugged dependability in even the harshest environments.
Heidenhain Linear Scales sense the movement of the axis slides directly. Position tolerances and backlash within the mechanical elements of the machine tool; i.e., leadscrews, racks or gears, have no influence. Furthermore, by reading the axis positions on the counter, you achieve greater repeatability and reduction in scrap. With machine error compensation of the counter, Heidenhain offers an additional possibility of utilizing the full accuracy potential of your manual machine.
